Ashish Nanda resigns as IIM-A (Director) on Personal grounds
About the Committee
The five-member search committee was formed to shortlist potential successors of present IIM-A director Samir Barua, whose tenure ends in November. Based on the recommendation of the selection committee, the board will send the names to the ministry of human resources development.
The four other members of the search panel are:
- Pankaj Patel: CMD (Zydus Cadila)
- D Shivakumar: PepsiCo India CEO
- Kiran Karnik: former NASSCOM head
- Srikant M Datar: member of Harvard Business School faculty
IIM-A also came up with advertisements in this regard and has also consulted all its stakeholders including faculty members and alumni. According to faculty members, the institute is looking for a strong international experience in the new director to place IIM-A in a better position globally.
For the top post, strong contenders are Ravindra Dholakia, Errol D’Souza, Rakesh Basant, Ajay Pandey and Arvind Sahay. The search committee will soon initiate the formal process by advertising for eligible candidates.
