IIM Udaipur has announced that number of seats for its flagship MBA/PGDM Programme has been increased. CAT 2014 test takers who have scored a high balanced sectional as well overall percentile will thus have better opportunity to get admission in IIM Udaipur.
IIM Udaipur will be the coordinating IIM to conduct Common Admission Process (CAP) 2015 for the six new IIMs . Coordinating institute for CAT 2014 was IIM Indore. IIM Udaipur has increased the intake to its flagship PGDM programme 2015-17 by 30 seats. Now the total seats available in flagship PGDM programme at IIM Udaipur to the candidates would increase from 120 to 150 for the batch 2015-17.
Older IIMs have sufficient intake and seats every year, the intake at newer 6 IIMs is comparatively low and the fresh admissions till 2014 remained in a range of 60 to 120 students in the flagship PGDM programme at each of these IIMs.
It may not only be IIM Udaipur but the other new IIMs like IIM Kashipur, Raipur, Rohtak, Trichy, Ranchi may also increase the number os seats in their admission session 2015-16. As all the new IIMs have less number of seats available for the aspirants.
If all these IIMs add 20 to 30 seats in their flagship PGDM programme, the CAT 2014 takers with fairly high scores will get benefit of 150-180 seats and accordingly more candidates will be shortlisted for next round of selection process called Common Admission Process (CAP) 2015 to be coordinated by IIM Udaipur for admission session 2015-16.
CAT 2014 was conducted on 16th and 22nd November 2014. CAT Results 2014 were declared on 27th December 2014.
