11 April 2011
•    Telecom Policy 2011 including liberal acquisition & merger norms was unveiled by Communications and IT Minister, Kapil Sibal.
•    Tata Steel vice-chairman B Muthuraman was appointed the new president of industry association Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
•    Indian Finance Ministry decided to issue biometric PAN cards to taxpayers across the country to erase the problem of duplicacy and fake ones.
•    Union government revoked 352 licences of prohibited bore weapons issued by the authorities in Nagaland.
•    The Delhi government gave its nod to a revised proposal for Metro's phase-III.
•    The annual Plan for Jharkhand for 2011-12 was finalised at Rs 15300 crore following a meeting between CM Arjun Munda & Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
•    Supreme Court admitted a writ petition filed by the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals challenging the Tamil Nadu law regulating the conduct of jallikattu.
•    Committee on Zonal Cultural Centres formed to revamp the functioning of Zonal Cultural Centres (ZCCs) submitted report to Union Culture Minister Kumari Selja.
•    The Delhi state government on approved a revised proposal for Metro’s phase-III. 
•    The Supreme Court Gave a Reprieve to the 44 Deemed Universities.
•    The Supreme Court of India refused Odisha Government's plea to stay Polavaram Dam construction by Andhra Pradesh.
•    Jharkhand Annual Plan 2011-12 Finalised at 15300 Crores.

•    Supreme Court appointed M. Gopalakrishnan to assist the Central Water Commission in inspecting the Polavaram dam to ascertain whether it was being built as per the Godavari Tribunal Award.
•    Union Government of India Put a Cap on Antibiotic Use in Poultry and Fish.

13 April 2011

•    Supreme Court refused to lift the ban on sale of tobacco products such as gutka and pan masala in plastic sachets
•    Sachin Tendulkar named Wisden’s Leading Cricketer in the World for the year 2010.
•    TRAI issued important recommendations related to manufacturing, infrastructure and green telecom to promote structured growth of the sector.
•    India decided to resume the bilateral cricket series with Pakistan which was put on hold in retaliation against the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai.
•    Supreme Court Refused to Lift Ban on Sale of Gutka in Plastic Sachets.

14 April 2011
•    British consumer products giant Reckitt Benckiser named its global marketing head Rakesh Kapoor as its new Chief Executive Officer.

15 April 2011
•    Bollywood Actress turned director Nandita Das was conferred with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, one of the highest civilian awards of France.
•    The Supreme Court granted bail to Human rights activist Binayak Sen, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of sedition and for having links with the Naxalites.
•    Playing for Mumbai Indians, Sachin Tendulkar made his first century in Twenty20s.

16 April 2011
•    Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh, the last Maharaja of Jaipur died.

17 April 2011
•    Shiv Kapur signed off at tied 13th at the Maybank Malaysian Open.
