30 May
•    Supreme Court on 30 May 2011 refused to stay the semester system introduced by the Delhi University for undergraduate courses.
•    The minutes of the 24th meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the RBI was released by the RBI.

31 May
•    Prakash Chandra, a 1973-batch Indian Revenue Services (IT) officer took over as Chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
•    A committee on allocation of natural resources headed by former finance secretary Ashok Chawla opposed oil ministry's plan to subsidise costlier imported LNG by making users of domestic natural gas pay more.
•    The telecom department unveiled a new security framework.
•    As per GDP data released the country's GDP (gross domestic product) growth slipped to 7.8 per cent in the fourth quarter (January-March) of 2010-11.

1 June
•    The Coal Ministry cancelled the allotment of a coal block to Shree Bhaidyanath Ayurved Bhavan over the company's failure to develop it in a timebound manner for captive use.
•    The Union Government appointed Revenue Secretary Sunil Mitra as the new finance secretary.
•    Senior-most medical officer in the army and a renowned surgeon Lieutenant General H.L. Kakria took over as Director-General of the Armed Forces Medical Services.
•    The Maharashtra Cabinet approved the proposal to raise the minimum age for consumption of hard liquor from 21 to 25 years

2 June
•    Delhi and Kerala won the titles in the 28th National youth basketball championship in the men’s and women’s category respectively

3 June
•    The Union government amended guidelines for Public Financial Institutions (PFIs) permitting private companies, primarily engaged in infrastructure funding, to attain the status of a PFI.
•    RBI permitted urban cooperative banks (UCBs) to give loans to self help groups (SHGs).

4 June
•    Nokia (Finland’s Mobile Company) launched mobile handset with dual sim.
•    Yoga Guru Ramdev started his fast against the corruption and black money at Ramlila ground.
•    CNG price increased by 55 paise per KG in Delhi and NCR region.

5 June

•    Union Government approved of the setting up of a separate cell under the Tea Board to look after the interests of small tea-growers
•    Spices Board launched a campaign to educate farmers, traders and exporters about aflatoxin, a naturally occurring toxin that degrades spices exported from India.
