It’s a known axiom and needs no fact-check to prove the reputation of IIMs. However, when it comes to international MBA ranking, top Indian B-schools find it difficult to fit into the race of the elite list. Now, it’s time to celebrate and feel proud of as three out of twenty IIMs located in various parts of the country has been included in the top 50 international MBA institutes. Three IIMs from India has been honored as top 50 global universities to pursue management courses by the prestigious QS World University Annual Rankings.

Students from IIM Bangalore, IIM Kolkata and IIM Ahmedabad should feel proud that their colleges are now in the list of top global institutes. It’s all due to the quality faculty, facility and curriculum of these IIMs they have been included in this elite list.

Now, let’s dig more into this matter!

The IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Kolkata were placed in the 22nd, 23rd and 46th position respectively in the top 50 global MBA ranking list. This was the first of its kind ranking compiled in such categories by QS global university rankings. Meanwhile, HEC Paris, London Business School and Spain ESADE were placed in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. All these rankings were based and evaluated in the Masters in Management category. A separate ranking was released for the programmes in Masters in Finance, Global MBA and Masters in Business Analytics.

Nevertheless, when it comes to the Global MBA category, it was only IIM Ahmedabad that ranked 49 in the list of top 50. Indian School of Business and IIM Bangalore were able to able to feature in the list of top 100 in this category, and they ranks were 93rd and 58th respectively. The regional analysis that included Asia, Australia, and New Zealand had a different story to tell. Regionally, IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Kolkata secured 7th, 9th, and 12th positions in the top 20. IIM Kolkata, which didn’t find its place in the top 100, was ranked 18th regionally in the Global MBA course.

This categorical ranking of global MBA institutes is perhaps the best way to rank a college as it takes every possible angle of evaluation into consideration.
