Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) is an Indian Central Armed Police Force conceived on 24 October 1962 for security along the India's border with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Eligibility criteria for Recruitment in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force
- Educational Qualification
a) Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication): Bachelors degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Information Technology or Computer Science or Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Instrumentation; OR Bachelor in Computer Application; OR BE in Electronics and Communication or Instrumentation or Computer Science or Electrical or Information Technology; OR Associate Member of Institution of Electronics and Communication or Instrumentation or Computer Science or Electrical or Information Technology Engineers or equivalent
b) Head Constable ( Telecommunication): 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics having aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board or university; OR 10th Class pass from a recognised board with two years Industrial Training Institute certificate in Electronics or Electrical or Computer from a recognized Institute; OR 10th Class pass from a recognised board with Science (PCM) and with 3 years Diploma in Electronics or Communication or Instrumentation or Computer Science or Information Technology or Electrical from a recognised Institute
c) Constable(Telecommunication): Matriculation from a recognised Board or equivalent
d) Constable (Animal Transport): Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board
- Age Limit (as on 26 April 2012)
a) Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication): Minimum 20 years; Maximum 25 years
b) Head Constable ( Telecommunication): Minimum 18 years; Maximum 25 years
c) Constable(Telecommunication): Minimum 18 years; Maximum 23 years
d) Constable (Animal Transport): Minimum 18 years; Maximum 25 years
Physical Standard required for Recruitment in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force
- Height: 170 cms ( For ST: 162.5 cms and for hilly region candidates: 165 cms)
- Chest (for SI/Telecom): 80-85 cms (For ST: 77-82 cms)
- Chest (for HC/Telecom and CT/Telecom & CT/Animal Transport): 80-85 cms (For ST: 76-81 cms and for hilly region candidates: 78-83 cms)
- Weight: Corresponding to height and age as per medical standards
- Medical Standard
a) The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes with correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
b) The candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties
Pay Scale (per month)
- Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication): Rs 9300-34800 + Rs 4200 Grade Pay per month
- Head Constable (Telecommunication): Rs 5200-20200 + Rs 2400 Grade Pay
- Constable (Telecommunication): Rs 5200-20200 + Rs 2000 Grade Pay
- Constable (Animal Transport): Rs 5200-20200 + Rs 2000 Grade Pay
Selection Procedure for Recruitment in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force
The candidate's overall performance will be judged for final recruitment. The assessment will be made in
