1. What should be the preparation strategy for AIPMT 2014 in these remaining days? Kindly share the section wise preparation strategy too for AIPMT 2014.

At this time instead of Preparation Strategy it should be Revision Strategy:

a. Just read the class notes which you have prepared during classroom sessions
b. Read the important derivation carefully just to understand the concept
c. Remember different assumptions and conditions associated with different formula
d. Don’t waste time in writing the theoretical statements on paper
e. Revise the entire syllabus with a vision. Don’t read entire theory again and again.
f. Practice as much questions as you can and try to understand the solution of those who you have attempted wrong.
g. This is a game of speed and accuracy and examination temperament so more practice leads to success.

h. Physics:

i. Theoretical Questions related to Modern Physics are too easy and having very less calculations therefore students of biology must emphasize on that.
ii. In Heat and thermodynamics majority of questions are of P-Y graph or principles of thermodynamics which are easy to solve
iii. First solve direct formula based questions of any topic.
iv. In case if any question is of lengthy calculation then first try to solve through approximation or as per options.
v. You may solve Career Point’s Full Syllabus Test papers to cover the entire syllabus effectively

i. Chemistry:

i. Physical Chemistry:
1. Try to practice Numerical based questions
2. See NCERT Examples and examplar questions
3. Give more Emphasis on 12th Class topics

ii. Inorganic Chemistry:

1. Give emphasis on Chemical Bonding, Co-ordination Compound
2. NCERT Exampler questions
3. Previous year AIPMT papers

iii. Organic Chemistry:
1. Name Reactions
2. Stereo-Chemistry
3. Bio-molecules, Polymer and Chemistry in everyday life as per NCERT
iv. In Chemistry sub option based question, Graph based question and Match the Column based question may also be asked.
v. Career Point’s Full syllabus test papers

j. Biology:
i. For Biology students must prepare Diagrams, Charts and tables given in NCERT books.
ii. Exampler problems
iii. Prepare flow chart for Mechanism of Physiology for quick revision
iv. Cover CP Full syllabus test papers which are precisely designed to cater the need of  AIPMT by expert team

2. Which books would you suggest for preparation?
Again NCERT Books, Class Notes, Sheets or Study Material of Coaching institutes or some renowned publishers. Students can arrange these materials through their own resources or can get through DLP programs of reputed institutes like Career Point. Moreover nowadays online material and test series are also available to students in nominal rates.

3. What could be the possible level of difficulty as compared to last year?
Considering the level of competition and preparation of students it will be at bit higher side than previous. Though there is no parameter if you have prepared well nothing is difficult else everything is a question.

4. What are the Dos and Don’ts before and during taking AIPMT 2014 Exam?

Do’s before and during the exam on the same day

Don’ts before or during the exam on the same day

Must check your examination centre one day prior so as to avoid last moment rush

Don’t be panic about the preparation

Must be sure about the examination centre in case having 2 or more centres or schools of same name

Don’t loose your patience and confidence

Just revise the major formula’s and short notes

Don’t see anything new which you have not seen before

Be Calm and confident

Sleep well,  don’t oversleep

During Exam

Carefully read the instructions given of question paper

Don’t be in hurry and read it carefully

Fill all the information correct, roll no, name etc

Don’t use pen where pencil is required

Read the questions carefully and mark right, cross and circle as per the level of difficulty

Don’t start with the difficult questions first

First solve all those questions in which you are confident and score well

Don’t jump here and there sequentially solve easy questions first

Fill the answer in case if you have done ample questions

Don’t be in too much hurry while filing the answer as one mistake of your leads to one wrong answer

First complete all those questions which are marked right, then go for circle one then at last crossed one

Don’t waste too much of time on one question. In case of lengthy calculations first use approx. method

5. What should be the exam taking strategy on AIPMT 2014 exam day? How should they manage the time between the different sections of the paper?

Strategy could be as follows:

a. Scrutinize the test paper first
b. Mark the questions which you feel very easy, easy and at last difficult as per your understanding
c. Solve the paper sequentially with the most easy first and then increase the difficulty level
d. Don’t waste too much of time on any single question
e. Don’t be emotional or sentimental towards a question while solving
f. For Pre-Medical students they may complete the bio portion first so as to save time for Chemistry and Physics. Generally the level of difficulty for Bio students are Biology, Chemistry and then Physics
g. Time can be managed by solving easy questions first and saving sometime for more difficult questions in sequential manner.
h. Be confident, calm and energetic
i. Don’t take panic in any case
j. You should have faith in yourself and your preparation

6. What in your purview should be the key areas to play in AIPMT 2014 exam? What are the possible areas where an aspirant can score more?

a. Attempt more and more papers
b.Develop synchronization between speed and accuracy
c. Focus on following topics:
i. Physics: Heat and Thermodynamics, Waves, Optics, Modern Physics
ii. Chemistry: Ionic Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, GOC, Carbohydrates, Proteins and Polymers, P Block, Chemical Bonding
iii. Biology: Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Ecology, Genetics

7. Kindly share your views on AIPMT question pattern of last years and possible ways to cope with the tough portions.

Average Paper

Average paper, Physical Chemistry were conceptual and calculation based questions

Above average

Average easy as compared to 2011

Average, some tricky questions

Little tricky, bit above average

Level was increased as compare to previous years

Possible ways to cope up with difficult questions:

1. See solved examples to understand the concept
2. Solve as many questions as possible to gain confidence
3. Try to find out the actual problem where it is in concept or anything else
4. Try to go upto the best of your knowledge and don’t leave any stone unturned for direct questions
5. Learn the formulas first so as to solve direct questions without any panic
6. Take the help of any teacher, senior or peer to understand the concept or topic
7. You may see the expert video lecture in case if available for any particular topic

8. How important are mock tests? When should an aspirant start taking these?

See the competitive exams are relative exams where you have to perform well as compare to your peers. Therefore practice plays a vital role here, the more you practice more you enhance your exam taking skills and examination temperament. The mock tests actually do the same for you after taking exam one should analyse his / her performance critically so as to overcome weak areas. One should start taking the exams from the very beginning as first topic wise, then unit wise, then part syllabus and at last full syllabus. One should take full syllabus mock tests from the month of February onwards.
