Situations at Guru Gobind Indraprastha University, Dwarka remained tensed, after over three hundred law students of the same university threatened to boycott their semester examinations starting 13 December 2012.
The situation surfaced, after the students demanded the removal of the dean of the University School of Law and Legal Studies . The students also insist on the review of the decision to bar students from appearing in the examination due to attendance issues. The University has been witnessing demonstrations by the students since the 10 of December 2012.
The whole thing triggered after the University decided not to allow sixty eight law students sit for the semester examinations due to low attendance. Students stated that as per the University, guidelines a monthly attendance list was to be displayed, but it never happened.
