India, will conduct the Bioinformatics National Certification Examination (BINC).
The objective of the examination is to identify bioinformatics professionals.
Eligibility
Graduates in any science, agriculture, veterinary, medicine, pharmacy, engineering and technology are eligible to appear for the examination.
A formal training, diploma or a certificate in Bioinformatics is not necessary.

Syllabus and Scheme
The Syllabus has been approved by the National Advisory Committee is available online. It consists of five sections, Bioinformatics, Biology, Physical and Chemical Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics and IT.
Paper I will be of the objective types, Paper II will be of the short answer type, lastly paper III will be computer based practical examination.
Research fellowships for all the successful candidates those who are interested and qualifies in pursuing a Ph.D in India will be awarded, also 10 cash prizes for the top ten successful candidates will be awarded.
