The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has come out with the notification to recruit more than 17000 trained graduate teachers in various schools of the state in various subjects. You need to have at least a graduate degree with minimum of 45 percent marks to be eligible for this. Apart from that, you need B.Ed. Degree from any recognized organization as well. Your selection is based on the written examination only. The written examination consists of two papers – Paper I for Hindi Language and General Knowledge and Paper II for the subject you are applying for.
Jharkhand SSC TGT Exam 2017: Detailed Syllabus
The examination will be conducted in offline mode for two papers in which you need to qualify only in Paper-I, whereas the marks in Paper-II will be considered for the final selection. For Paper-I, you need to score at least 33% of the total marks; whereas for Paper-II, The qualifying marks for unreserved candidates is 50% and 45% for the reserved categories i.e. SC/ST. Before you are going to start your preparation, let us see the syllabus in detail-
Paper-I
Paper-I will be of 200 marks and there will be 200 questions of 1 mark each. This paper is there to test the knowledge of the candidates in Hindi Language and General Knowledge. There will be 100 questions each on general knowledge and Hindi Language. For General Knowledge section, you will have questions out of the following topics:-
- Indian History
- Indian National Movement
- Geography
- Indian Polity and Indian Constitution
- International Relations
- Indian Culture
- Current events of national and international importance
- Knowledge on the state of Jharkhand and other neighboring states along with neighboring countries
- Countries and its capitals
- Books and Authors
- Scientific developments in the recent years
- Political status of Jharkhand
- General Science
- General Mental Ability
- The state of Jharkhand – History and geography, economic status, contribution of the state in Indian National Movement, schemes of the state government, places, personalities, rivers & etc.
In the Hindi language section, you have two sections in it and they are:
- Hindi comprehension – 50 marks (50 questions)
- Hindi grammar – 50 marks (50 questions)
In this section, you will have questions based on unseen passages as well as Hindi language grammar
Paper-II
In this paper, you will have 150 questions of 2 marks each. Your selection will be based on the marks you secure in this paper. The questions will be based on the subject for which you are applying.
Hindi Language
In this subject, you will have questions on the following topics:
- Development of the Language and the current status (The topic covers the development of the language from the initial days to the current age, similar languages and the interrelation between Hindi and those languages)
- History of Hindi language
- Hindi grammar
English Language
In this subject, you will have questions based on the following topics:
- Developments of English literature in India start from 1830 to the present day
- English grammar
- Letters and official communiqué of various conventional types
- Comprehension of standard prose passage
- Poetry, prose and drama of famous writers such as John Donne, William Shakespeare, George Herbert, John Keats, Ernest Hemmingway, Arundhati Roy, TS Eliot and etc.
Sanskrit
On this subject, the questions will come from the following topics:
- History of Sanskrit language
- Development of the language up to the present day
- Grammar of the language
- Error detection in the language
Math and Physics
In Physics, you will have questions out of the following topics:
