Kerala Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) 2014 Exam results, which were declared on 16 April over the SSLC website, have recorded 95.47 as pass percentage. The total students who appeared for the exam were 4.64 lakh among which 4.42 lakh examinees have successfully secured promotion to higher studies /HSC.
Education Minister PK Abdu Rabb announced the result. During the press conference, he stated that the pass percentage or success rate this year has gone up by 1.3 % when compared to the performance of 2013. He added that the females have scored marginally greater than males as per the data recorded as 96.53 pass percentage for girls and 94.44 for boys. Total 2.36 lakh boys appeared for the Kerala SSLC 2014 examination, while the girls count was 2.28 lakh. Students not only appeared from Kerala, but Lakshadweep and Gulf Regions as well.
The Kerala SSLC examination for academic session 2013-14 concluded on 22 March and the results for the same were declared in much advance, in order to avoid the clash or delay in result announcement with Parliamentary Poll schedule. To keep up with the time-frame, near about 13,000 teachers were appointed to evaluate the answer scripts.
