MBA Admissions 2016: Apply in IISWBM’s MBA – Public Systems (PS)

Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) has invited applications for its MBA – Public Systems (PS) Programme for the academic session 2016 - 18. All the interested and eligible candidates can apply latest by 6^th June, 2016.

IISWBM was constituted on 25th April, 1953 by a resolution passed by the Senate of the University of Calcutta. This was the culmination of the joint initiative taken by the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India and the captains of industry in India to set up for the first time a management education institute in India, a concept alien to many in the educational fraternity at that time. 

Courses Offered in IISWBM

Following courses are offered under MBA – Public Systems (PS) Programme;

• MBA – Public Systems in Energy Management
• MBA – Public Systems in Environment Management           
• MBA – Public Systems in Healthcare & Hospital Management
• MBA – Public Systems in Transportation & Logistics Management

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

MBA – (PS) (Energy Management) Programme: The minimum qualification for admission to the Course is a Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Science / Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Law or its equivalent from any University recognized by the University of Calcutta.

Although such graduates are eligible to apply for MBA-PS Courses, however preference for specialization is given to the graduates as indicated below:

B.E / B.Tech in Engineering, AMIE, Science Graduate (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics) / Bachelor in Business Administration or Bachelor / Master in Computer Applications.

MBA – (PS) (Environment Management) Programme: The minimum qualification for admission to the Course is a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Science / Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (especially Chemical, Civil and Mining) / Technology / Law or its equivalent from any University recognized by the University of Calcutta.

MBA – (PS) (Healthcare & Hospital Management) Programme: The minimum qualification for admission to the Course is a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Science / Commerce / Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medical Science / Law or its equivalent from any University recognized by the University of Calcutta.

Although such graduates are eligible to apply for MBA-PS Courses, however preference for specialization is given to the graduates as indicated below:

MBBS, AYUSH, BDS, BPT, B.OPTM. Bachelor in Business Administration, Nursing, Law Graduates or equivalent in Pharmacy, Science, Economics, Commerce and Engineering.

MBA – (PS) (Transportation & Logistics Management) Programme: The minimum qualification for admission to the Course is a Bachelor's Degree with Honours Science / Commerce / Arts / Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Law or its equivalent from any University recognized by the University of Calcutta.

Selection Procedure for Admission in IISWBM

The applicants for the admission to the MBA – PS Course are required to take MAT / CAT / CMAT / JEMAT / GATE/ GMAT. The candidates short listed on the basis of cut-off-marks in the above selection tests would be required to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview at IISWBM, Kolkata. The final selection of candidates will be strictly on the basis of merit.

How to apply for IISWBM’s MBA

Candidate is required to purchase Prospectus along with Admission Form from the cash counter of Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) by paying Rs. 900 in cash. Fill the Application Form as per the instruction mentioned and send the duly filled in form alongwith the requisite documents to IISWBM.
