MRB TN to conduct Special Exam for 1800 Temporary Doctors, Apply before 17 Oct at mrb.tn.gov.in

Medical Services Recruitment Board Tamil Nadu (MRB TN) invited applications from 1800 temporary doctors for the special qualifying exam. Eligible candidates can apply through prescribed format on or before 17 October 2016.

MRB TN invites applications from only those candidates who were appointed temporarily as Assistant Surgeons, Medical Officers and Non-Service Post Graduate / Diploma holders & Tutors in the time scale of pay with reference to G.O.(D).No.349, Health and Family Welfare (B1) Department, dated : 29.02.2016 and G.O.(D) No.1205, Health and Family Welfare (B1) Department, dated:02.09.2016 and continuing in service as on the date of this notification so as to absorb them as Assistant Surgeons on regular basis.

The examination will be held on 20 November 2016.

Important dates

Last date for receipt of Application forms: 17 October 2016

Last date for offline payment of fee through Indian Bank: 19 October 2016

Last date for sending printed application to the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine through Head of the Departments concerned: 27 October 2016

Date of Examination: 20 November 2016 (10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M)

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:  Candidates have MBBS degree. Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914. Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a period of not less than twelve months.

Exam Scheme

The examination will be of 2.5 hours duration and will be objective type. The question paper will carry a total of 100 marks. For general candidates 35% will be the qualifying mark and for SC/SCA/ST it is 30%.

The question paper in the subject ‘Medical Sciences’ will be the standard of UG level and will be set in English and will contain 200 objective questions each. There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer. There will be no Oral Test for the post.

The examination will be held at Chennai.
