NCERT has announced National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) for academic year 2018-19. The scholarship exam is conducted at state level as well as national level. Students who applied for the exam, may check here the NTSE dates, scholarship amounts and other related information.

NTSE Scholarship Pattern:

All selected (1000) students will get a monthly scholarship as per decided by NCERT, Delhi. Check the Scholarship pattern here-

  • Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.
  • Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
  • Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria (Stage 1)

All students currently studying in class 10th from any recognized school under Delhi State Education Board are eligible to take the NTSE 2018-2019. Students must have scored minimum 60% (for General/OBC & 55% for Rest categories) in class 9th.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria (Stage 2)

  • Candidates will need 80% marks or above in the State level exam, to be considered eligible.
  • Every student who secures the minimum required marks in Stage II will be eligible for the scholarship program.

NCERT Delhi conducts the NTSE every year in two phases. After clearing both the stages, 1000 students will be selected for a monthly scholarship provided they must fulfill the eligibility criteria. NTSE has set a fixed seat quota for each state.

NTSE Reservation Criteria

  1. 15% for students belonging to SC category.
  2. 7.5% for students belonging to ST category.
  3. 4%for Physically Challenged group of students, with benchmark disabilities of which – 1% each will be reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities under clauses –
  • Blindness and low vision
  • Deaf and hard of hearing
  • Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
  1. 1% for persons with benchmark disabilities under clauses
  • Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness.
  • Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses in the posts identified for each disabilities.
