No More Interviews for Govt Jobs in UP, CM Yogi Scraps Interview for Group B, C, D Categories

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath led government has passed a decision to end the Interviews as part of selection process for Non-Gazetted Group B, C, D Category jobs.

The decision is seen as an effort to eradicate corruption in the recruitment process of Govt jobs, by doing so, CM Yogi Adityanath led government has replicated the central government decision on the same issue.

Previously, the recruitment process consisted of three phase selection process including interview followed by the medical examination, in case of police and other associated jobs physical endurance and stature were also measured.

Now candidates will have to go through a two phase examination and necessary medical examination, physical endurance and physical endurance and stature test etc. as per the requirement of department and posts.

Interviews did not have any fixed criteria to measure the performance of candidates and mostly relied on the Interviewers intellect, and it was also seen as promoting corruption in the govt hiring process where Interviewers could be influenced by candidates.

Central govt too has done away with Interviews as part of the recruitment process for class III and IV, Prime Minister had quoted at the time of the announcement that “I have not yet seen a psychologist who can assess a person in a two-minute interview,”.
