Outsourcing NET, Suggestion of HRD Ministry

The HRD ministry suggested to outsource the prestigious of UGC, National Eligibility Test (NET). The UGC would deem this proposal of HRD ministry in the coming commission meeting scheduled on Wednesday. According to sources, serious review of NET is required by the HRD ministry. Complaints are increasing with every year. Hence, review of the complete system and outsourcing the examination to professionals, is required to eliminate the issues.

A panel of two members has been already constituted by the UGC to accomplish a full review of NET, consisting support system and formatting of examination.

The matter that makes the UGC meeting spiteful is the Four year undergraduate program of Delhi university and its further possibility in other universities. One member said that FYUP is a big policy intervention and without correct discussion cannot be extended to other university.

A member got more annoyed as his written request was not considered at the commission’s meeting. The member had objected against Ved Prakash, UGC Chairperson, asking him the reason behind not deeming the request as it was appropriate.

As a minimum, three members of UGC said that the commission did not allow them to put forward their issues in the last meeting however constitute a panel to supervise FYUP in DU.
