Prelims & Mains GS Syllabus of UP Combined Lower Subordinate (General Selection) Services Exam 2008

The detail of the General Studies Syllabus for Preliminary and Main Exam of Uttar Pradesh Combined Lower Subordinate (General Selection) Services Exam 2008 which is scheduled to be held on 15 January 2012 is as follows –

1.    General Science
2.    Contemporary National and International Current Affairs
3.    Indian History
4.    Indian National Movement
5.    Indian Political System and Indian Economy
6.    World Geography and Demography

General Science questions will be based on Daily experiences and observations. The nature and standard of the Science questions will be such that a well-educated person will be able to answer them without any specialised study in Science. Candidates are expected to answer the Science questions using their basic understanding of all relevant issues of Science, and their ability to analyse the issues. Economic, Social, Cultural and Political aspects of Indian History will be given importance. In Indian National Movement section General Knowledge is expected on nature and importance of Indian Freedom Movement, Arising nationality and attaining freedom in India. Under Indian Political System, questions are intended to be asked from Indian political system, Indian Constitution, Panchayati Raj and Community development. In Indian Economy, questions will be asked from Indian Economy and planning. Questions will be asked on General awareness on World Geography and Demography. Environment and Ecological, economic and social population statistical aspects of Indian Geography will be emphasised.
