Beware! If you are receiving an appointment letter from State Bank of India or any of its Associate Banks or any other bank for jobs you’ve never applied to, you need to check its authenticity first.

In an important recent notice, the Central Recruitment and Promotion Department (CRPD) that conducts Recruitments in clerical and officers cadre for State Bank of India and its Associate Banks has warned against fake recruitment notices and appointment letters that has been issued on behalf of SBI and/or its associate banks.

Usually, SBI and its Associate Banks notified recruitment through CRPD, if any, in Employment News/RozgarSamachar as well as Bank’s website, and they made recruitments only through written test and interview or through shortlisting and interview process. Or, the candidates selected under different recruitment projects handled by CRPD are contacted by the respective Circle Offices of the Bank or the Head Offices of the Associate Banks of SBI for completion of various formalities before issuing Appointment letters. CRPD do not issue directly appointment letter to candidates.

If you get bank job notifications other than the aforementioned modes or any appointment letter for jobs which never got notified by the said banks through any such publications/modes, just don’t consider it and set for the authentication of the same by contacting organization directly.

In the notice, the CRPD said, “It has come to our notice that fake appointment letters for the post of Probationary Officer, said to have been issued by State Bank of India, Central Recruitment and Promotion Department (CRPD), Corporate Centre, Mumbai are received by few candidates. It has also been noticed that fake recruitment notices are released in internet by some miscreants. Candidates should check details of recruitments in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar or from the Recruitment link in Bank’s website www.sbi.co.in, www.statebankofindia.co.in.”

The roll numbers of successful candidates of various recruitments should also be checked from Bank’s website, said the notice. In case of any doubt candidates may contact CRPD.
