Recently a girl ended her life by jumping from the fifth floor of her apartment building in Kota because she was not satisfied with her JEE Main result. "Her JEE (Mains) results came out on Wednesday. Though the cut-off marks were 100, she scored 144. As per the coaching officials, it was a decent score and she had a good chance of cracking IIT," the SHO said. The total number of stress-related suicides this year by coaching students in the educational hub increased to five. According to data, the year of 2006 saw at least 6000 students’ committing suicides due to exam fear and stress.
Students spend many sleepless nights to get best results yet sometimes the result obtained by them is not satisfactory. In this situation, the responsibility of parents increases toward their children.
They should teach about stress management to their children who either are going to appear for the board exam or competitive exam right from the beginning of the preparation for these exams. They should motivate them and stand with them in every odd situation.
