The Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi is set to launch the Virtual Classroom Project in Ranchi University in the month of August 2012. It aims at reducing the sufferings of student due to lack of quality education.
They wish to explore this idea all over the country so that medical illness or any other unavoidable circumstance does not hamper student’s education. A very important reason for coming up with the idea of virtual classroom is that the hostel of Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi is 20 kilometers away from the campus and sometimes it is problematic for a student to attend lectures at the time of their illness and they miss their important lectures and exams.
Through Virtual Campus, students can register their attendance by marking biometric sensor with their thumb impression. The understanding of the subject by the student would be evaluated by the faculty members through their notes on that particular subject from a separate module.
