Three IITs Roughed Up to List of Asia’s top 100 Universities : Times Higher Education, UK

As per the first Asia University Rankings, released by the “Times Higher Education” magazine, only three institutions in India , and in this case, Indian Institute of Technology featured amongst the top hundred universities in Asia. For more information, read ahead.

As per the first Asia University Rankings, released by the “Times Higher Education” magazine, only three institutions in India , and in this case, Indian Institute of Technology featured amongst the top hundred universities in Asia.

While IIT-Kharagpur ranked the 30th, IIT-Bombay is 33rd and IIT-Roorkee 56th, the University of Tokyo secured the pole position with an overall score of 78.3, followed by the National University of Singapore with 77.5, University of Hong Kong (75.6) and Peking University (70.7).

Varsities were ranked based on the thirteen performance indicators in teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Though it is great news for India , having IIT’s feature on a world list like this, it must also be noted that IIT-Kharagpur, the highest-ranked Indian university, is placed between 226 and 250 on the world list, leaving us enough room for improvement.
