Tamil Nadu Senior Secondary Examination (10th class) results were announced on 4 June 2012 at 2:30 pm. A total of 10.84 Lakhs candidates appeared in the SSC Exam which were conducted from 4 April 2012 to 23 April 2012.
Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary examination (class 12) was conducted in the month of March 2012. The results were announced on 22nd May 2012. There were 7.8 lakhs students who had appeared for the Class 12 exam. The 12th exam was conducted from 8th March to 31st March 2012.
Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education, established in 1910 operates under the purview of the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu State Board of Examination evaluates student's progress by conducting two board examinations in a year- one examination at the end of class 10 and the other at the end of class 12. The scores from the class 12 board examinations are used by universities to determine eligibility and as a cut-off for admissions into their programmes.
