1. Solar Hydrogen-based Microgrid at Chushul, Ladakh

To provide a stable power supply using Green Hydrogen in off-grid Army locations, NTPC and Indian Army have Join Hands for Round-the-Clock Power Supply using Green Hydrogen.

  • NTPC has designed this innovative Solar Hydrogen-based microgrid system to operate independently.
  • This will work as an energy storage medium to supply 200kW of power round-the-clock throughout the year.
  • NTPC will maintain the project for 25 years
  • NTPC has started a trial run of a hydrogen bus in Leh recently towards achieving its renewable energy targets and carbon neutrality in Ladakh.
  • NTPC is committed to achieving 60GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.

2. 200 Years of Kittur Vijayotsava

On the 200th anniversary of Kittur Vijayotsava, a commemorative Postage stamp was released at the historic Kittur Rani Channamma Stage, Kittur Fort Premises.

  • This grand event commemorated Rani Channamma’s glorious victory on 23rd October,1824 against British rule.
  • The commemorative stamp designed by Shri Brahm Prakash features a striking portrait of Rani Channamma.
  • “Kittur Vijayotsava - 200 Years” has been created to honor the historic milestone, making it a poignant tribute to her enduring legacy in India's freedom struggle.

3.Rs.1,000 crore Venture Capital Fund for Space Sector

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved setting up of Rs.1000 crore Venture Capital Fund dedicated to the space sector, under the aegis of IN-SPACe.

  • The average deployment amount could be Rs.150-250 crore per year, depending on the investment opportunities and fund requirements. The proposed break-up financial year wise is as below:

  • The Government of India established IN-SPACe to promote and oversee private sector participation in space activities.
  • IN-SPACe has proposed a Rs.1000 crore Venture Capital Fund to support the growth of India's space economy with a target to reach $44 billion by 2033.

4. Cabinet approves two Railway projects worth Rs 6,798 crore

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved Two Railway projects of the Ministry of Railways with total estimated cost of Rs.6,798 crore (approx.).

  • Doubling of Narkatiaganj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga & Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur Section covering 256 kms
  • Construction of a new line between Errupalem and Namburu via Amaravati covering 57 kms to be completed in 5 years.
  • The Two projects cover 8 Districts in 3 States i.e., Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar. Both the projects will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 313 Kms.

5. 13th National Seed Congress in Varanasi, UP

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India will be hosting the 13th edition of the National Seed Congress (NSC), scheduled to take place in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, from November 28-30, 2024.

  • The event will be organised in collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) and the National Seed Research and Training Center (NSRTC).
