UGC declared result of PG Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders for which a total of 558 candidates were selected. The result was declared on 12 February 2013 for candidates who were selected and rejected for Post Graduate Merit Scholarship of 2 years.
The 558 selected candidates shall be paid a monthly scholarship of Rs 2000 for 10 academic months in the first year and second year (if selected) through Canara Bank to the bank account of the awardee directly. The candidates will have to submit ‘Continuation Certificate’ at the end of every three months and an Annual submission of “Progress Report” (mark-sheet of semester-I & II in case of semester system of studies) to draw the scholarship.
The University Grants Commission, on the basis of an initiative of MHRD, had introduced the scheme of Post-Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme for University rank holders with the objective of attracting talents for pursuing post-graduate studies. Candidates selected for the scholarship can only apply for non-professional courses.
