UGC issued guidelines for introduction of One Year LL.M. Degree Programme from 2013 session

    The MHRD while over the ‘round table’ on legal education system suggested a number of measured to re structure and revamp the legal education system in the country, including that of a one year L.L.M program.

    The Commission considered the guidelines for the introduction of the one year masters in Law program 2012 and approved the introduction of the same only in universities. institutions which have a centre for the Post Graduate Legal Studies.

    The guideline and the course structure for the introduction of the program will be available on the UGC website.

    The Universities that fulfill the guidelines can go ahead and switch over to the LLM Program in this session, 2013, however, without compromising on the quality and the standard.

    But it has also been clarified that LL.M of one year and two year duration, both would remain valid.
