UPSC has released detailed application form (DAF) for IFS Main Exam 2016. The exam is scheduled to be held from 12 November.
UPSC will conduct Indian Forest Service Main Exam 2016 and eligible candidates are required to send the DAF before 06 October.
How to submit UPSC IFS Main Exam DAF?
The Detailed Application Form (DAF) is available at the official portal of the Commission. Candidates can also retrieve it from the link given below. Candidates should read these instructions carefully before filling in the online DAF. Candidates are required to scan their relevant original documents in 200 dpi grey scale and convert to a single PDF file up to 2 MB, before filling in the online DAF. The PDF file so created must not be password protected and it should be uploaded along with the online submission of DAF.
The Commission will not accept documents related to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, Service Records and alike. The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University.
In addition to this, candidates are required to submit application fee of Rs 200 either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using Net Banking facility of SBI/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.
Candidates opting for "Pay by Cash" mode should print the system generated Pay-inslip during filling of payment module of Detailed Application Form and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.
Important Details regarding IFS Main Exam 2016
UPSC will conduct IFS Main Exam from 12 November. The examination will be held at Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Port Blair and Shimla. Roll number of the candidate for the Main Examination will be the same as the Roll Number given to him/ her for the Preliminary Examination.
Indian Forest Service Examination will be a two tier examination - a Preliminary screening Examination followed by a main Written Examination and Interview. For screening suitable number of candidates for the 2nd stage of the Examination to be named as Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, all candidates would be required to qualify Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (hereinafter called the Preliminary Examination).
