Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the Written Exam Schedule of Indian Forest Service Examination (IFS), 2012 that will be held at 42 centres across India. The Written Exam will be conducted from 14 July 2012 to 23 July 2012 in forenoon session and afternoon session.
The minimum qualification required to take this exam is a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, physics, Statistics and Zoology OR a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from a recognised University.
The competitive examination for the Indian Forest Service comprises of 6 papers wherein Paper I and Paper II will be same for all candidates and the rest of them will be based on any two subjects selected by candidates from the list of optional Subjects mentioned in the notification.
