The concept of wave is used to explains interference, differection and polarization. This new branch of physics which explains the concept or phenomena with the help of wave theory is called wave optics. The source propagates in the form of wave front. The locus of the points in the same phase are called wave front. Interference is based on the super position of two waves. Diffraction of light is also explained by wave theory and the polarization of light is based on the fact that light waved are transferred electromagnetic waves. According to Newton light has particle nature and these light particle were names as corpuscles. As per Huygens wave theory explained the dual nature of light. Light particles possess wave nature as well as particle nature.
