Kagalpura in Aurad Taluk of Bidar in Karnataka: Aurangabad-Hyderabad passenger train derailed
Four coaches and the engine of Aurangabad- Hyderabad passenger train derailed near Kagalpura in Aurad Taluk of Bidar, Karnataka on 21 April 2017. However, there were no injuries or casualties.
The derailment happened between Khalgapur and Bhalki stations. After detaching the derailed coaches, the remaining portion of the train consisting of eight coaches, moved to the Kalagapur railway station.
Fortunately, all the passengers were safe and arrangements were made to evacuate the passengers from the site of derailment. Special buses were arranged to transport the passengers from Kalagapur to Bidar railway station.
The disaster management team, senior officers and General Manager of the railways reached the spot immediately for the rescue operations. They assessed the damage and also oversaw the operations. Moreover, a high-level inquiry was ordered by the General Manager.
