The counting of votes is almost done, and BJP+ is at its all-time high with 348 seats out of 542 constituency seats.
The counting of votes is almost done, and BJP+ is at its all-time high with 348 seats out of 542 constituency seats. This figure is staggering and it seems BJP is all set to break its own record of 282 seats 5 years back in 2014. On one hand, a see-saw battle is going in-between Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani for the Amethi seat while on the other hand Sadhvi Pragya is leading over Digvijaya Singh with a whopping margin in Bhopal.
Without a shadow of doubt, India is going to witness a paradigm shift in the political turf in 2019 as the sheet of Saffron is likely to spread over India in a few hours from now. Having said that, let’s take a look at the major factors that has led BJP to likely break its own record:
It is without a doubt, the Modi Government in the past 5 years has launched several schemes and programs for the upliftment of the country. The government initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India and MakeinIndia were taken as a positive move by the people of India. In addition, new taxation system such as GST and demonetization also helped the government to gain the hope of the public. Foreign policies with Maldives and Srilanka was also taken positively by India.
During the tenure of NDA government in these 5 years no major corruption happened and was seen as a sign of progressiveness by the people of India. People were really devastated by the scams such as 2G, 3G, Adarsh and other Scams that occurred during the subsequent congress governments. This also helped the NDA government to show the vision of constructive and corruption-free nation to the people of India.
Aspiration of Youth
This is a fact that Modi led NDA government has sufficed to the need of youths. The government addressed various problems such as unemployment and illiteracy, and launched several programs to counter the battle with result oriented solutions. Programs such as Startup India were really taken positively by Indian youth who aspire to become entrepreneurs.
Recent actions taken by the BJP Government such as Air Strike on Pakistan along-with Free LPG cylinders under the Ujjwala Yojana scheme helped the party to take massive lead in 2019 general elections. Most importantly, the government’s report card in boosting India’s Space Programme by backing ISRO was rated high.
