The Cabinet Committee on Uttrakhand, headed by Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh on 9 December 2013 sanctioned 7346 crore rupees for the relief and rehabilitation of flood-hit Uttarakhand. Of the total amount of 7346 crore rupees sanctioned, 18885 crore rupees will be given for center-aided schemes and 1200 crore rupees for the National Disaster Relief Fund.
As per the State Government of Uttrakhand, the decision was taken during a meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in New Delhi.
The State Government of Uttrakhand has issued 3180 death certificates by now against 4025 people, who went missing during the floods. As per the Chief Minister of Uttrakhand, Vijay Bahuguna, the remaining death certificates will be issued by 15 December 2013.
