China and the US agreed mutually to hold high level, regular negotiations on setting standards for the commercial spying as well as cybersecurity. This is said to be the first diplomatic effort between two countries to defuse issues of government and corporate thefts as well as computer trespassing.
The official negotiation on the issues will commence from July 2013. On 7 June 2013, President Xi Jinping of China and US President Obama will have an informal summit meeting in Rancho Mirage, California.
It is important to note that China has been intruding in the cyber-security of US since long, which has resulted in stealing of various secrets such as schematics for next-generation fighter jets, negotiating strategies and also the gas pipeline control systems.
China, on the other hand, has continuously insisted that it is not the perpetrator into cyber-security. Instead it is the victim of such cyber attacks.
It is important to note that in the month of May 2013, The annual report of Pentagon on China unveiled that the government and military of China targeted the computers of the US government in order to cyber spy the US computers.
