Committee formed in Haryana to look into Irregularities in giving Land to Trusts & Societies

Haryana Vidhan Sabha speaker Kuldeep Sharma on 27 August 2011 announced the constitution of  a seven-member committee to look into the irregularities in giving away land to various trusts and societies during the regime of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala. The committee, under MLA B B Batra also include MLAs Anand Singh Dangi, Rao Dharampal, Gyan Chand Oadh, Aftab Ahmed, BJP leader Krishan Pal Gujjar and the Advocate General as members.


The seven-member committee was formed  look into the irregularities done while giving the panchayat land as gift to 18 societies and trusts run in the name of Chaudhary Devi Lal and Mata Harki Devi during the Chautala regime.


The CBI had asked the Vidhan Sabha to inquire into the alleged irregularities while giving panchayat land to 18 societies and trusts, run in the name of Ch Devi Lal and Mata Harki Devi, during the Chautala regime. The committee will submit its report in 45 days.


The Vidhan Sabha authorised the Speaker to constitute a committee to probe the allegations that several acres of prime land in various parts of Haryana, including Gurgaon, was gifted by the Chautala government (1999-2005) to trusts under the control of his family.
