Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah flagged off the 'Run for Unity' organised in New Delhi today. The 'Run for Unity' was organised as part of the National Unity Day celebrated on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

This initiative has been started by former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'.

The Indian Coast Guard has recently launched two indigenously built fast patrol vessels, 'Adamya' and 'Akshar'. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), these ships are built with more than 60% indigenous content. They are built for coastal security and surveillance and have a length of 52 metres and a maximum speed of 27 knots.
