Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 5, 2022 canceled his scheduled visit to Punjab's Ferozepur to lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects. As per media reports, PM Modi had landed in Bathinda from where he was to go to National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala by helicopter. He failed to reach the destination due to blockage by protestors in a major lapse of security and it was decided to turn back to the Bathinda airport.

Born in Georgia, Viktor had won Olympic gold in three consecutive games representing the Soviet Union, in 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games, 1972 Munich Olympics and 1976 Montreal Olympics. He won a silver in the Olympics four years later in Moscow.
