Karnataka will be hosting the second Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2021, which is scheduled to take place later this year. The games will be hosted by Bengaluru's Jain University and other venues in the state, in partnership with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award 2021 in the 'Critic's Best Actor' category during the prestigious award ceremony held on February 20, 2021. The actor was last seen in the film 'Dil Bechara' opposite Sanjana Sanghi, which was released on the OTT platform after his passing. The actor had made his Bollywood debut with 'Kai Po Che' in 2014.

Deepika Padukone won Best Actor (Female) in Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival awards 2021 for essaying the role of an acid attack survivor in Chhapaak. Akshay Kumar won Best Actor (Male) for his role in Laxmii. The Ajay Devgn- Kajol-Saif Ali Khan starrer historical drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior won the 'Best Film’ honour.
4. (c) Hoshangabad
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on February 19, 2021 that Hoshangabad city in the state would be renamed as Narmadapuram. Hoshangabad was so far named after an attacker Hoshang Shah but it will now be known after its lifeline- Narmada.

Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to table a paperless budget. The state's first paperless budget was presented in the state assembly on February 22, 2021 by UP State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna.All members of the State Legislature were provided iPads to view the budget highlights, which were also displayed on two big screens put up in the House.

The V Narayanaswamy-led Congress government in Puducherry lost the floor test in the state assembly on February 22, 2021. Following this, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanaswamy submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Novak Djokovic on February 21, 2021, defeated Daniil Medvedev of Russia 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 in the finals of men's singles at Australian Open 2021 to win his 9th Australian Title. This is Djokovic's 18th Grand Slam win, just two behind Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
8. (d) Uttarakhand
The Uttarakhand state government has brought an ordinance that will give co-ownership rights to the women in the ancestral property of their husbands. The ordinance by the government has been brought in view of the large-scale migration of men from hilly areas of the state in search of livelihood.
