India has overtaken Japan to rank third in the Asia Power Index recently released by Australian think tank Lowy Institute. The Asia Power Index evaluates the influence of different countries in Asia. The United States and China are in first and second place.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 41st Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders' Conference in New Delhi. During the three-day event, senior ICG commanders will discuss strategic, operational and administrative issues amid growing geopolitical and maritime security challenges.

Recently, Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the Computer Security Incident Response Team for Power Sector (CSIRT-Power) in New Delhi. It has been launched in collaboration with CERT-In and is in line with the National Cyber Security Policy 2013.

World Pharmacist Day is celebrated every year on 25 September to give global recognition to the contribution of pharmacists in healthcare. The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) officially recognised World Pharmacist Day in 2009 during a conference in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The Maharashtra government approved the proposal to name the Pune airport as Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Pune International Airport. Sant Tukaram Maharaj was a 17th-century Marathi poet and Hindu saint, known as Tuka, Tukobaraya, Tukoba in Maharashtra.

Recently, the Mankidia Community has become the sixth Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) to receive housing rights over forests in Odisha. The Mankidiya community is an Austro-Asian community who mainly make their living from the forests. This is a semi-nomadic section of the Birhor tribe.
