1. (d) Social Reformer

Savitribai was one of India’s foremost social reformers and was also one of the first modern women to have become a teacher at the time when girls were not allowed to be educated and attend schools. This year is her 191st birth anniversary. She is remembered for not only facilitating women's education in India but also for her work to abolish the discrimination and unfair treatment of the people based on their gender and caste in India.

2. (a) January 4th

Prime Minister Modi will visit the poll-bound Manipur and Tripura on January 4, 2022, to inaugurate mega development projects in the Northeast Region. The Prime Minister will dedicate the projects worth Rs. 4,800 crores to Manipur while Tripura will receive the new integrated terminal building at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport along with two key development initiatives.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science & Technology at Chandigarh University on January 3, 2021. The research centre has been established with the objective of training students in space science, satellite development and to meet future challenges in space research.The state-of-the-art centre will be the Ground Control Station for Chandigarh University's Student Satellite (CUSat).

KL Rahul has become the 34th Indian to lead India in Test matches after he took on the skipper's role during India's second test against South Africa at the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg on January 3, 2022. Indian test captain Virat Kohli is not a part of the playing XI due to an upper back spasm.

KL Rahul has been named as India's captain for its upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa and Jasprit Bumrah has been named as the deputy captain. KL Rahul will act as a stand-in skipper in place of Rohit Sharma, who has been ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury.

India beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets to lift the under-19 Asia Cup in Dubai on December 31, 2021 in a rain-interrupted final. India under the leadership of Yash Dhull won through the Duckworth Lewis method (DLS) as the match was reduced to 38 overs due to rain interruption.
