Chhapra in Bihar: Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express derailed
Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express on 25 June 2014 derailed near Chhapra in Bihar in which four people were killed and eight were injured. The accident took place between Golden Ganj and Chhapra Kachari Stations on Sonpur-Chhapra section.
Due to derailment, 12 coaches and the engine of the train were affected. A special train has been dispatched to the spot to take the stranded passengers to their destinations.
Railway minister, Sadanand Gowda, announced compensation of 2 lakh rupees for the family of dead, one lakh rupees for the grievously injured and 20000 rupees for those who sustained minor injuries. Commissioner of railway safety will conduct an independent inquiry to find out the cause of the accident.

Apart from this in another accident, 18 bogies of a goods train also derailed near Chakiya railway station on the Muzaffarrpur-Narkatiyaganj railway section in Samastipur division.
