A short film, Eclipse In Taregna which is about the 2009 solar eclipse in Taregna, a small hamlet in Bihar hogged limelight at the Queens World Film Festival in March 2011. The lead actor, Surendra Rajan won the Best Actor Award and the short film won the Founder’s Choice Award at the festival. The short film is directed by Rakesh Chaudhary and revolves around Pathak, an old man who has abandoned the world and his family. The story is about how the curiosity of an 8 year old surrounding century’s longest solar eclipse pulls old Pathak back to life.
Eclipse In Taregna was earlier showcased at the India International Film Festival, Tampa Bay, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and the New York Indian Film Festival.
Surendra Rajanbegan started his acting career in the sixties and has earlier done cameos in Munna Bhai MBBS, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Phas Gaye Re Obama.
