A new Study appearing on the website of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) on 6 June 2011 suggested that people infected with HIV have a higher rate of cancers. The increase in cancer rates highlights the need to understand how to treat tumours in people taking highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART) for HIV.
The results of the AIDS-related study can change the way the cancer is treated in HIV patients.
