Ian Fraser Lemmy Kilmister, founding member and singer in the British heavy metal band Motorhead, passed away on 28 December 2015 after battling cancer. He was 70.

• He was born in December 1945 in Staffordshire, England.
• He joined the English psych-rock band Hawkwind in 1971, but got kicked out several years later for abusing amphetamines drug. In response, he formed Motorhead in 1975.
• Motorhead has released 22 studio albums with Lemmy as its only constant member. His last album was Bad Magic in 2015.
• He was regarded as the godfather for rock n roll endurance and genres like thrash and speed metal.
