India on 4 July 2011 decided to send a special team by the end of July to Kyrgyzstan to train the latter’s armed forces in UN peace-keeping operations and impart English language skills to them. The decision was taken during the two-day visit of Indian defence minister AK Antony to Kyrgyzstan.
India also offered its assistance to Kyrgyzstan in a wide range of areas to strengthen its defence and security capabilities. There is a lot of potential between India and Kyrgyzstan in the field of military training, defence research and development and production of defence armaments.
