The Government of Maharashtra on 20 July 2013 granted tax exemption to Hindi film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the Farhan Akhtar starrer movie in the state that was released on 12 July 2013. The film is based on the life of the legendary athlete Milkha Singh.
The film has been co-produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The tax exemption on the film will be valid for next six months from 20 July 2013 onwards. The Revenue Ministry exempted the tax considering the nature of the film as it encourages sports among the youngsters.
