Mukesh Khanna appointed as Chairperson of Children's Film Society of India

Children's Film Society India (CFSI) was founded by, India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1955 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Actor and producer Mukesh Khanna on 29 April 2015 was appointed as the Chairperson of the Children's Film Society of India (CFSI). He was appointed by Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as successor of Amole Gupte.

Actor-director Amole Gupte, who took the post in 2012, had resigned from the office in June 2014.

Mukesh Khanna is known for his iconic role as Shaktimaan, a 1990s superhero series. He is also remembered for his portrayal as Bhishma Pitamah in Mahabharat. He was last seen in daily soap Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara.
