Paes & Bhupathi Won Chennai Open 2011 Doubles

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won their first title together in over six years by defeating Robin Haase and David Martin 6-2, 6-7(3), 10-7 in the Chennai Open doubles final on 9 January 2011. The final of the Chennai Open marked the duo’s 34th Tour final together. Paes and Bhupathi met with first round losses the last two times they paired up, in Indianapolis 2008 and Bangkok 2010 when they paired together after their long estrangement.

World No. 21 Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka defeated Belgian Xavier Malisse 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 to win the final of the Chennai Open tennis on 9 January 2011. With the Chennai Open Wawrinka picked up his third Tour title. He had lost the 2010 Chennai Open final to Croatian Marin Cilic. Wawrinka also became the first wild card since Ivan Ljubicic, in 2006, to win the Chennai Open.
