Planning Commission Proposed to Develop Naxal-hit Districts

The Planning Commission on 25 October 2010 decided on an allotment of 13742 crore rupees for Integrated Action Plan to foster development of naxal affected areas of India.

The Planning Commission on 25 October 2010 decided on an allotment of 13742 crore rupees for Integrated Action Plan to foster development of naxal affected areas of India.  The proposal was sent for cabinet approval on 26 October 2010. The plan has been designed to improve basic infrastructure in 60 naxal hit districts of the country. The emphasis would be to improve road, schools, power, health facilities besides making governance effective at village level. The plan will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase Rs 3000 crore rupees will be provided to the target districts.
