Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud appointed Mohammed bin Nayef as Crown Prince

Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz was relieved from his duties.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on 29 April 2015 appointed his nephew Mohammed bin Nayef as the new Crown Prince and as a Deputy Prime Minister. Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz was relieved from his duties.

Besides him, the Saudi king made other appointments. These were
• Salman's son Prince Mohammed bin Salman was appointed as Deputy Crown Prince.
• Saudi's Washington ambassador Adel al-Jubeir was appointed as the Foreign Minister by replacing veteran Prince Saud al-Faisal.
• Khalid al-Falih was appointed as the country's Health Minister and chairman of Saudi Aramco.
