Shashikant Sharma Appointed Secretary of the Dept. of Financial Services

Shashikant Sharma was appointed Secretary of the Department of Financial Services in the Finance Ministry.

The Indian Government appointed Shashikant Sharma as Secretary of the Department of Financial Services in the Finance Ministry in February 2011. The 1976 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, Sharma was Secretary, Information Technology prior to being appointed Secretary of the Department of Financial Services. Sharma also worked in the Defence and Urban Affairs Ministries. He succeeded R. Gopalan who has been recently elevated as Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Finance Ministry.
