Kanya Sumangala Yojana launched in UP for families with the girl child

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on October 25, 2019, launched the Kanya Sumangla Yojna to provide Rs 15000 in a phased manner to every family where a girl child is born. The scheme was launched in Lucknow. The funds will be released in several instalments such as at the time of the birth of girl child, during the vaccination, during her admission to the school and on other events.

Kartarpur Corridor: India-Pakistan signs historic pact

India and Pakistan signed the Kartarpur Corridor Agreement on October 24, 2019. The corridor is expected to be inaugurated on November 9, 2019, by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan.

As per the report, the Police department recorded the hike of 20.95 per cent in Woman Police strength in the State Police Forces. There are now a total of 1,69,550 women police personnel in Indian Police, taking the total share to 8.73 per cent.
